In lactating mothers, deficiency of Vitamin B12 causes neurological disorders in children.
Calcium Deficiency: Studies have shown that vegans are more at risk of fractured bones than their meat eating, non-vegetarian counterparts.

Vitamin D Deficiency: Vegan diet is also low in Vitamin D. It is important that women who are lactating, pregnant or considering pregnancy, take care adding iodine in their diet. For the unborn baby, iodine is available as folate.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids: A commonly seen deficiency in vegans is omega 3 essential fatty acids. style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">High Protein Breakfast for 2011:

A healthy breakfast combination consists of one serving of a dairy product or high-calcium food, one serving of a whole grain carbohydrate, and one serving of fruit. This totals to approximately 300 calories. Some healthy low carb high protein breakfast ideas are:
A good idea would be to have a bowl of high-fiber, multigrain cereal, along with lots of strawberries/blueberries, topped with low-fat milk.

If you can't give up your muffins, make it a low-fat muffin, and add to it a wedge of cantaloupe. You can have a latte made of skimmed milk, along with it.
For a quick high protein breakfast, grab a granola bar, an apple, and a glass of chilled milk.
If you like eggs, which by the way are very high in protein, have a scrambled egg, a fresh fruit salad, a whole wheat roll and a cup of low-fat milk.
Mix fresh blueberries with a cup of fat free yogurt, which you can have along with a slice of whole wheat toast topped with fruit spread.
This is one of my favorites: a mini whole wheat bagel with a light spread of cream cheese and jam. We have thought about having breakfast out of home earlier as well but there were not enough (read good) options for that in Noida. In Dehli, there are better breakfast and brunch options for the weekends but traveling to them and that too empty-stomach is not a good thing to do for me:)

But I have read about this place in Sector 18 Noida, where they have good breakfast menu. So, we decided to check it today. The place is near Superstars and called 'Café Style'. It is a new joint but has received good reviews wherever I have read about it. It is quite laid-back, spacious and 'stylish'. The first thing that you notice on entering the place is the whole concept. The sofas are comfortable and the chairs are more than spacious.

Breakfast Place

A light breakfast must necessarily be followed be a substantial meal, while a heavy breakfast must be followed by a light lunch. If both breakfast and lunch are light, then a heavy dinner is needed.

Like all meals, breakfast must be planned to include food nutrients not provided for or inadequately found in the two other meals to complete the essential body requirements for the day.

Too often, skimpy breakfasts are blamed in lack of time. Considering that one-fourth to one-third of the day’s requirements is served at breakfast, the need for planning ahead is doubly justified.

Breakfast mean to break the fast of several hours.

The factors affecting the nature of the breakfast menu will depend upon age, sex, weight, health, and kind of activities of the individual family members. Other factors to consider are the amount of time allotted for its preparation by one or several family members, or by a hired helper and how light, moderate, or heavy other meals are intended to be. Family custom may have to contend with all of these, although strictly speaking, this must not prevail upon the more important factors.

Breakfast should always include a raw fruit because this contains more vitamins and minerals than cooked ones. Fresh ripe fruits have a rich mellow aroma that can stimulate even the most delicate appetite. It should be taken as the first course of the meal for the same reason.

Fresh eggs are good breakfast food because they are rich in complete protein, fat, iron, calcium, phosphorus, vitamins A & B, and niacin. They are also easy to prepare and digest. They can be fried, poached, soft-cooked, hard-cooked, scrambled, or prepared as an omelet.

Breakfast Delivery

Quality Weekend Brunch: I totally agree a service that offered quality coffee's, teas, quality breakfasts even for special ocassions. The service should also deliver a choice of morning papers (NY Times, Washington Post). It could even be served in real plates and silverware and flowers and simply put at the front door for later pickup. A quality breakfast with all the above for 50 - 75 plus tip has to be profitable for some small businessperson. I would pay for special ocassions (birthday, mothers day, anniversary, new years day (hangover days). A special discount could be offered for those ordering the evening/ night before. Great Idea I have often wondered Why Not.

I'm a morning person, a lazy morning person who doesnt want to get dressed and go out for breakfast. I would love to have breakfast delivered to me. Perhaps order what i want at their website the night before and have it delivered at a specified time in the morning. It would make my day. But now, i'm not talking about IHOP quality breakfast, any person in america can drive 3 blocks and find an IHOP. I'm talking bagels, fresh fruit, soy milk, and homemade yogurt with wheatgerm. a few weeks ago i had breakfast at a little place near my office who had the most wonderful menu. I had an omlet filled with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes and dill topped with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon, and there were cucumbers. thats the kind of breakfast delivery i'm talking about. no one wants a plate of grease moonlighting as waffles for breakfast. so, for you entreprenual types, i give you this idea. i give it to you under one stipulation - if you do open a breakfast delivery place you had better be delivering good food and you better deliver to my house.

Breakfast Inns

In New England, inns and bed and breakfasts are a popular choice and often located in historic homes full of antiques and unique furnishings. In other parts of the country and world the term is more loosely used in describing a place to rest your head for the night and then move on.

In my book, inns are a delightful alternative to hotels and resorts. But they are not for everybody, and here’s the answers to some basic questions to determine if it’s the type of accommodation that’ll work for you...

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INNS AND BED AND BREAKFASTS?

Let's start by clearing up any confusion on the differences between inns and bed and breakfasts. And it's not so much in the name as how they advertise themselves.

Firstly, there's rarely any difference in accommodation. The personality of a bed and breakfast can be every bit as good as the charm of an inn. The difference is in the prepared meals. A bed and breakfast is just that... expect a bed... and a breakfast, but you're on your own for dinner. But at inns, they're set-up to provide dinner as well, although it's usually an option, and not included in the quoted price. The listing will be very clear if dinner is offered. But assume its just bed and breakfast if nothing is mentioned.

In many areas of the world inns and bed and breakfasts are also called guesthouses. If at all possible ask to see a picture of the place, or visit their web site, where one should be posted. A lot can be surmised from a picture of your potential accommodation.

ARE THEY RIGHT FOR MY KIDS?

Many inns and bed and breakfasts don’t accommodate young children. Sometimes the age and furnishings of the place are not appropriate for the fingers and playfulness of kids. But when an inn says kids are welcome, then you'd better believe they really mean they're kid friendly. Now there's nothing wrong with that (I have three myself), but don't expect too much peace and quiet and solitude.

Breakfast. Eggs

In the last two weeks, I've eaten a LOT of scrambled eggs. I've gone through book after book, dozens of articles and scoured the world via restaurant and the internet to find the perfect recipe and method to create what - for all appearances - would seem like the easiest dish in the world to make.

The truth is that scrambled eggs are easy to make. Unfortunately, they are also the easy to make WRONG. At a root level, scrambled eggs are simply beaten eggs which are fried and - for lack of a better word - scrambled. But like most things that are simple (take love and martinis as examples), people have found ways to make them needlessly complex.

Several recipes I encountered recommended whisking a Tablespoon of small curd cottage cheese in with each egg. Visually, the result was creamy and mildly fluffy scrambled eggs. In terms of taste, the cottage cheese did not contribute or detract from the eggs -- but it did make the dish seem somehow impure. You knew there was something in there besides the egg. The aspect of cottage cheese that secured its fate as a stay-out-of-our-scramble ingredient was that no matter how vigorously you whisked the dish had texture irregularities. Every other bite had the unwelcome surprise of a noticeable cottage cheese curd.

I tried two recipes that used real cream ("the fat skimmed off the top of raw milk" as defined by the Wikipedia Dairy Products Guide). One said to add 1 Tablespoon of real cream per egg. The other instructed the use of 1 and Tablespoons of cream per egg. Both recipes created beautiful eggs with a creamy yellow color. Sadly, the resulting flavor was not so beautiful. In both cases the first bite tasted terrific, but the more I ate the more I had to admit that these eggs were just too creamy. The recipe with 1 and Tablespoons of cream left a slight, unpleasant milky after-taste.

Scrambled eggs with sour cream can not be considered scrambled eggs in a purist sense. The sour cream adds a distinct flavor. Therefore, scrambled eggs with sour cream will be saved for mention in a future article on specialty or flavored scrambled eggs.

Scrambled eggs with a pinch of baking powder per egg had a great appearance. They were fluffy, yet firm. I was surprised to find there was no trace of baking powder taste. Unfortunately, the texture of the scramble in the mouth was uneven with specks of firmer pieces in a single bite.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://morningbreakfasts.blogspot.com/2009/11/breakfast-eggs.html' title='Breakfast. Philosophically as well as emotionally it is one event, which helps the family sit together and discuss the day to day events resulting in improving family relationships. It also provides an opportunity to invite the guests and impress them with your creative skills of cookery and decoration. This not only makes a person healthy physically but also mentally.

The Dining room has therefore become an integral part of the house providing a lot of fun and enjoyment. It is one of the most buzzing place of the house being more frequented by family members. Apart from good food, a great dining experience has many important elements such as:

a. Dining Table,
b. Dining Chairs,
c. Dinette sets,
d. Décor and Ambience.

If the dining table is the cynosure, than chairs make up the supporting cast of the show. Dinette sets are also essential ingredients which augment the décor and ambience of the spectacle. It is essential to keep innovating and renovating the dining room to keep the monotony away from the dining room. Following are some ways to experiment with your dining room :

1. Purchasing of new chairs,
2. Reupholstering the same chairs,
3. Using Slip Covers,
4. Introducing new dinette sets,
5. Decoration.

While making any changes in the dining room it is essential to keep the right balance among all the components so that they compliment each other.

1. Purchasing of new dining chairs as an option could be adopted to give a different look to the room. However the best option is to retain the original chairs which were made to compliment the table. But one does nor necessarily stick with that option and can opt for a change by getting new chairs for the table which compliment the table.

Breakfast Dining

After reading so much information online about bed & breakfast businesses I was really curious about trying a few of them out. Since I am going to be visiting family and friends over the holidays I decided to book a couple of reservations. I am ready to have some fun and to check them out.

Since I love Christmas I decided to go with those that had decorated for the holidays. I figured if they have gone to the trouble to make it that inviting then it should be very cozy and well taken care of in every other aspect. I really think this is going to be a fun way to discover on my own what they are all about.

All of us have heard horror stories about bed & breakfasts that just didn't do justice to this particular industry. Since I don't like to take such risks or throw my money away, I decided to do some investigating. In addition to reading the online advertisements I also read what guests had to say about them.

The personalized attention that I got even during the reservation process really got me excited about this adventure. I am going to be picked up by the owner of one of the bed & breakfasts when I go to see my sister. They make this accommodation for their guests as there aren't any taxi cabs offered in that town.

The second bed & breakfast that I will stay at is close to my parents home. It used to be a house so it is in a residential area. If the weather isn't too cold I may even be able to walk back and forth. That would be very convenient and I could enjoy the scenery along the way. It will also give me some space that I really need.

Mexican Breakfast

Beautiful. Unique. Mysterious. When you think about Mexico, these are but a few of the words you may envision. In a land rich with history and culture, Mexico offers an authentic taste of yesteryear mingled with the personal flavors and tested with love over time. Each dish has its very own personal touches that make it exceptional; each spice has a purpose. One thing is for sure: one person can never truly know everything about Mexican food.

Encyclopedias of information have been printed in hopes of pinpointing certain cuisines found in and around the beautifully traditional Mexico, but the truth is that each dish is different offering a piece of the person preparing the meal in question. Perhaps adding a slightly spicier Chile pepper, or adding mangos instead of tomatoes is the key to that perfect new salsa.

Regardless of how you look at it, everything you need to know about Mexican food can be found in any kitchen where intrigue and compassion are home.

Tradition dictates that good meals are essential to the family structure as well as the culture. Missing meals is not a good idea, and when you only have what you or your neighbors grow, that means you learn to cook what you have on hand. There are many unique subcultures within the culture of Mexico. The various regions are well-known for having specific ingredients other areas just do not have. Historically, the people made delicious meals, candies, drinks, and snacks out of what was grown in their own backyards.

Authentic meals consisted mainly of corn tortillas, fruit salsas, and a meat indigenous to the region. Even chocolate and coffee can be found in some of the regions of Mexico grown with the same skill learned centuries ago. Lard was often used in the preparations, but health conscious people today use a different variety of oils such as vegetable oil, olive oil, or canola oil.

Lunch Breakfast

Australians on vacation love a big breakfast to get them ready for the day's discoveries. Many Australians also love Indian food. In South India breakfast foods also appear at other times during the day as snacks. Everywhere in the south you will come across idlis (spongy, round, fermented rice cakes), which are accompanied by chutney (chatni, often coconut) or sambar and frequently both. Usually, idlis are served in portions of two at once.

Also popular, and often eaten with idlis, are vadai, which are deep-fried dhal and vegetable cakes (sometimes called ulundu vadai in South India). These come with a sambar and chutney. Less common is uppuma, which is a savoury dish made from semolina, pounded rice, vegetables and spices. Puttu is a sweet breakfast dish made of pounded rice and coconut.

Equally popular throughout southern India, eaten as lunch or breakfast, are the wafer-like pancakes called dosa. Dosas come in a number of different forms: masala dosa (a lentil-flour pancake stuffed with a potato masala); uttapam (a thicker dosa topped with chopped spiced vegetables); and paper, or semolina, dosa (lacy, thinner than other dosa and with no filling). Dosas usually come with coconut chutney and a sambar, and are generally about the size of a plate, but sometimes they are larger. Think of them as southern India's answer to pizza ! Udipi in Karnataka is considered the home of the masala dosa.

In Kerala especially you will come across appams, which are pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk. The final product is crispy at the edges and rather like a pikelet in the middle. Appams are often accompanied by a hard-boiled egg in a curry sauce and this is a snack you'll find in chai shops everywhere. Idiyappams come in vermicelli strands which are often served with milk and sugar as a dessert.
